Charlie Georgiou, a participant from Love Island USA, has publicly pushed back against the intense criticism directed toward his brother, Zach Georgiou. In a statement posted on Threads, Charlie made it clear that he refuses to apologize for supporting his sibling, despite the negative reaction from some viewers.
«To all the people who don’t like me anymore for defending my brother, I’m glad,» Charlie wrote. «Genuinely, I don’t need support from people that bully my brother online for absolute minute reasons.»
Addressing the Severity of Attacks
Charlie expressed shock at the extreme nature of the negativity surrounding his brother, noting that the intensity of the attacks seems completely disproportionate to Zach's actions on the program.
«You’d think he’s been cancelled for something illegal the way you are talking about him,» he remarked. «I have received death wishes, homophobic slurs and people even telling him to ‘take his ass back to the Byzantine empire’ the region in which our heritage comes from.»
Furthermore, Charlie addressed specific allegations regarding the show's dynamics: «For all the people who have said ‘Zach withheld food from kayda and has starved kayda’ as farfetched and ridiculously dramatic that statement is, Zach did make kayda breakfast that morning it just wasn’t shown.»
