A Night of Emotion and Triumph
During the 2026 Academy of Country Music (ACM) Awards held on Sunday, May 17, 27-year-old country star Ella Langley experienced a profound moment of vulnerability. While accepting the prestigious Female Artist of the Year award, the singer struggled to find words, clearly overcome by the magnitude of the recognition.
Langley shared her internal struggles during the broadcast, noting that the pressure of award ceremonies often brings unique challenges.
«I’m trying to say something, but I can’t. Thank you. To the women in this category, to the women in this life, this is a weird thing to do. Today I was having a strange day. I don’t know what it is about awards, but I have strange days in the mornings here.»
Support from Peers and Family
The artist expressed that it was the camaraderie of her fellow nominees that helped ground her during the ceremony. While artist Megan Moroney was also a contender in the category, she was absent from the event to serve as a maid of honor at a close friend’s wedding.
Langley also took time to honor the foundation of her success: her loved ones. «Thank you to my parents for believing in me and my family for showing up and being weird as always, so it keeps me humble,» she remarked. She concluded her gratitude by thanking her faith and the Academy.
A Record-Breaking Evening
Hosted by country icon Shania Twain at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, the night turned into a historic event for Langley. Beyond her win for Female Artist of the Year, she secured victories in several major categories, including:
- Song of the Year
- Artist-Songwriter of the Year
- Single of the Year
- Music Event of the Year
Her dominance at the ceremony cemented her status as the most decorated artist of the evening. Reflecting on her path to success, she reiterated her message of solidarity: «Thank you to the women. I would not be standing up here without that. So, thank you.»
Following her major tour announcement earlier this year, the artist continues to build momentum in her career, with fans looking forward to her upcoming performances as she celebrates this milestone achievement.
