The victim, Shehorn, provided testimony during the trial detailing the events that led to the charges. She described the relationship as abusive, noting that she had taken out a restraining order against the actor prior to the violent encounter. Recalling the incident, Shehorn stated, «I locked the door, and he just started punching holes in that door and broke that open. And I just ran into the bathroom because I thought there’s another lock on that door.»
Following the attack, Pasqual fled the scene but was eventually apprehended by authorities at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint located in Texas.
