Kroy “KJ” Biermann Jr., the son of reality television personality Kim Zolciak, has faced significant legal action following his arrest on felony charges. The allegations involve counts of aggravated sodomy and aggravated sexual assault. The incident in question allegedly took place at a Lifetime Fitness facility on April 23. Following a report of the incident, the minor female involved was taken to a medical facility for examination. According to police records, medical testing performed on the complainant revealed no presence of male DNA.
Arrest and Detention Details
Court documentation indicates that KJ Biermann Jr. was taken into custody in Alpharetta, Georgia, on August 17. As of the current proceedings, a judge has denied bond, and he remains detained at the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center. A preliminary hearing was previously scheduled for early September.
Family and Defense Response
Kim Zolciak has publicly addressed the situation, asserting her son's innocence. In a formal statement, she emphasized that the accusations are unfounded and distressing. Zolciak noted that her son voluntarily underwent a polygraph test, which he passed, and reiterated that biological evidence failed to link him to the alleged assault.
«False accusations can have devastating consequences not only for the person being accused, but also for genuine survivors of sexual assault and abuse. Every legitimate allegation deserves to be taken seriously and investigated based on the facts and evidence. At the same time, no one should be publicly condemned based solely on an accusation,» said Zolciak.
The defense attorney representing Biermann, Jason Sheffield, has strongly contested the validity of the charges. During a press briefing, Sheffield highlighted several points of contention:
- He stated that his client maintains 100 percent innocence regarding all charges.
- The defense claims that law enforcement failed to consider exculpatory evidence, including the results of a polygraph examination.
- According to Sheffield, the investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation (GBI) confirmed the absence of male DNA in the areas where the complainant alleged an assault occurred.
- The attorney further alleged that the accusations were motivated by the subject's refusal of unwanted romantic advances from the accuser.
Sheffield expressed his intention to work with the District Attorney's office to demonstrate the lack of merit in these claims and to resolve the matter promptly, while urging the public to refrain from premature judgment.
