Escalation of Legal Proceedings

The legal confrontation between the estate of the late icon Dolly Parton and her nephew, Bryan Seaver, has intensified. Representatives for the singer's estate have formally accused Seaver of actively avoiding legal summons following his dismissal from his position as head of security this past September.

According to court documentation, the 49-year-old nephew claimed in a motion filed in early October that he has struggled to secure legal representation. Seaver asserts that he began seeking an attorney immediately after being served with a restraining order by She’s Alive—the organization established by Parton prior to her passing in August to safeguard her professional interests and estate.

Estate’s Allegations of Evasion

She’s Alive has officially petitioned the court to reject Seaver's motion for an extension. The estate argues that Seaver’s claims regarding his inability to find counsel are disingenuous, stating:

«Mr. Seaver attempted to evade service of process, and this court should not reward that behavior.»

The estate provided details regarding multiple failed attempts to serve Seaver. According to these records, officials visited his residence three times. During one attempt, they noted the presence of four vehicles in the driveway, yet received no response at the door. The filing further alleges that the property has since been fortified with "no-trespassing" signage and barbed wire installed along the handrails leading to the entrance.

Conflicting Statements

The estate further challenges Seaver's narrative by citing an email allegedly sent by him on August 21—just days before Parton's death—in which he claimed to already have legal counsel prepared to contest the estate. For his part, Seaver has dismissed the restraining order as a "publicity stunt." He maintains that his previous controversial remarks, which allegedly included self-descriptions as an "international arms dealer and mercenary," were taken out of context during discussions with Parton’s long-term manager, Danny Nozell.

In response to earlier reports regarding alleged threats against the estate, Seaver told ABC News: «I’ve never threatened anyone. They are my friends and my brothers and colleagues.» Currently, She’s Alive is requesting that the court maintain the temporary restraining order against Seaver until the scheduled hearing date.
