O’Connell Weighs In on the Season's First Showmance
Jerry O’Connell, a dedicated Big Brother superfan and co-host of the companion series Unlocked, has shared his unfiltered thoughts regarding the whirlwind romance between Rome Seymour and Lyric Medeiros. Following Seymour’s recent eviction, O’Connell noted the intensity with which the relationship escalated during their time in the house.
«These two were together for hours, and they were already dropping love bombs,» O’Connell commented regarding the speed of their connection. «This guy was dropping an L-bomb. I think 12 hours into their relationship.»
The Unique Environment of the 'Big Brother' House
Beyond the rapid emotional progression, O’Connell was particularly struck by the setting of their intimate interactions. Much of their bonding occurred on the notorious 'Have-Not' bed—a rotating wooden plank designed to make the houseguests' lives significantly less comfortable.
«He said on a wooden rotating bed, ‘I want to make babies with you.’ … I mean, that is the power of the Big Brother house,» O’Connell quipped. «That is why Big Brother is the best unscripted show on TV … other shows aren’t saying, ‘I want to make babies with you’ on a wooden rotating bed.»
Gameplay Analysis and Strategy
O’Connell also took time to reflect on Seymour’s strategic approach to the game. He initially viewed the pickleball coach as an authoritative figure capable of challenging the dominant players, such as Survivor icons Dee Valladares and Rick Devens.
«I really thought Rome was sort of this alpha guy who was sort of gathering a few troops,» O’Connell explained. «He was a newbie. He wasn't one of the icons from Survivor. I really felt he was the only one who could really go for the king and queen... He just had a showman [side]. I think that rubbed a lot of people the wrong way.»
The actor further noted that being involved in the season's inaugural showmance likely increased Seymour's target profile, making it difficult for him to lower his threat level within the house.

«I am the one who personally [breaks] the news. I am brave enough to go into the Big Brother house and I extract. I’m like Odysseus in the Odyssey. I extract information out of the Big Brother house,» he added. «It is huge news. It will affect the rest of the season.»
