An Unexpected Departure
The fifth season of the demanding reality competition Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test has seen a rapid turnover of participants, but the recent exit of NFL veteran LeSean McCoy left many viewers stunned. His decision to leave the show stemmed from a refusal to use the designated outdoor restroom facilities.
Despite his initial confidence in lasting through the competition, McCoy withdrew during the October 1 episode. He revealed that while he expected physical challenges, he was unprepared for the reality of the jungle environment and the primitive nature of the sanitary facilities.
The Jungle Reality
McCoy shared his experience in an exclusive interview, highlighting how the environment proved far more intimidating than he had anticipated:
«When I looked into the bathroom, it really was just like a hole, some wood, a circle and a bucket. That’s it. And there was a big snake in there. I’m like, ‘Oh, hell no.’ So I said, ‘I’m not using the bathroom.’ They got snakes. I saw a king cobra.»
The athlete explained that encountering such creatures in person, rather than through a screen or at a zoo, was a frightening ordeal. He had hoped to simply avoid using the facilities entirely, but the psychological pressure of the living conditions quickly became unsustainable.
Pressure and Withdrawal
During the episode, McCoy was open with his fellow recruits about his stance, insisting he would rather hold it for days than use the outdoor setup. Despite efforts by other contestants like Oliver Hudson to question his strategy, McCoy remained firm in his discomfort. Upon realizing the toll the environment was taking on his mental state, he ultimately decided to withdraw, stating, «I am not ready for all this thing. I am not taking no s* here.»
Broader Challenges on Set
McCoy was not the only recruit struggling with the show's rigors. Oliver Hudson also faced consequences during the same episode after attempting to delay a challenge to use the restroom, resulting in a penalty of 50 push-ups from the Directing Staff. The episode also marked the departures of George Santos and Ruby Rose, who left due to separate medical issues.
