Actress Minka Kelly and Imagine Dragons frontman Dan Reynolds have reportedly decided to end their relationship after spending four years together. The news of their separation began circulating across various media outlets on Wednesday, October 7.
A Public Display of Affection
The split comes only months after Kelly, 46, shared a heartfelt tribute to the 39-year-old musician on social media. In July, she posted a message on Instagram celebrating his birthday:
«Thank you for making ordinary days feel extraordinary, for making me laugh until I can’t breathe, and for loving so deeply and so freely. Celebrating you is one of my favorite things to do. I love you, Dan. Happy birthday ♥️.»
How It All Began
The couple was first introduced by a mutual friend back in 2022, shortly after Reynolds finalized his divorce from Aja Volkman. Their connection began remotely; before meeting in person, they decided to exchange details about their respective creative projects—Kelly was working on her memoir, Tell Me Everything, while Reynolds was in the midst of producing his band's album, Loom.
Reflecting on this unique start, Reynolds previously noted that sharing their professional work fostered a deeper bond between them. «I think it helped us both kind of understand each other on a deeper level quickly. It was a really strange and awesome way to meet someone because I was hearing all her life stories from youth to now,» he shared.
Life in the Spotlight
Following their initial digital connection, the pair made their first public appearance in November 2022 at an Italian restaurant in Los Angeles. Throughout their time together, they were frequently seen in public, and Reynolds even made an unexpected appearance on Kelly's Netflix series, Ransom Canyon. During the production, Kelly noted that Reynolds played a supportive role, helping her prepare for her character by teaching her to play the piano.
