A Fresh Start in Podcasting

Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham is returning to the audio landscape with a brand new project. After a hiatus of more than two months, the 30-year-old athlete announced the debut of her rebranded podcast, “No Hesitation.”

The announcement, which was shared on social media on Thursday, September 10, revealed that Cunningham is teaming up with prominent basketball trainer Drew Hanlen for this new venture. The show, which previously aired under the title “Show Me Something,” will feature new episodes released every Thursday.

The Shift in Partnership

The return of the podcast marks a significant change, as Cunningham will no longer be joined by her longtime friend and co-host, West Wilson. This development comes following a period of public friction regarding the participation of transgender athletes in women's sports.

In July, Wilson sparked controversy after sharing a TikTok video where he challenged the narrative surrounding trans athletes in the United States. He argued that the perceived threat to sports is statistically negligible, stating:

«Right-wingers have convinced a massive portion of people in our country that these people are, like, a threat to sports in America, when mathematically it’s not the case at all. And by continuing to platform this — politicians, athletes, journalists, news outlets — you’re only isolating transgender people even more by making them seem like this giant group of people is a threat to society»

Cunningham’s Stance on Biological Inclusion

Wilson’s comments surfaced shortly after an ESPN profile featured Cunningham, in which the basketball player expressed her belief that transgender women should not be permitted to compete in the WNBA. Cunningham later reinforced this position during a practice session with the Indiana Fever, labeling her perspective as a matter of “common sense.”

“I think I’ll always believe in that,” Cunningham remarked during the interview. “I think it’s really important to protect children.”

While clarifying her position, she emphasized the importance of dialogue and inclusivity, adding, “I think there is room for absolutely everyone here and I think there’s room to love everyone. I truly think when you get people in the same room and have conversations, you have a lot in common with a lot of people. I’m there to love, but I’m also there to love biological women and I think there are rights that need to be protected.”
