Taylor Swift is taking a trip down memory lane. The 36-year-old superstar shared a piece of rare archival footage on social media on Friday, June 5, to commemorate the debut of her latest single, “I Knew It, I Knew You,” featured on the soundtrack for Toy Story 5.
The lighthearted video shows a young Swift joyfully dancing while dressed in a classic Western ensemble, complete with a cowboy hat, boots, and a denim skirt accented with red trim.
Creative Inspiration Behind the Track
The new country-infused song was penned by Swift alongside her frequent collaborator, Jack Antonoff. The track draws direct inspiration from the Toy Story character Jessie, the beloved cowgirl who first appeared in the second installment of the franchise.
Reflecting on the creative process, Swift expressed her gratitude to the film’s team. She shared:
«Thank you to the brilliant director Andrew Stanton for imagining me for this, all those years ago when you wrote this newest film. Thank you to the incomparable composer Randy Newman for the gorgeous sonic tapestry of songs and scores you’ve meticulously woven over the years. She further elaborated on the collaborative effort with Antonoff, noting: «We wrote this with so much adoration for these characters that made us laugh and helped us learn lessons and think outside the backyard all throughout our childhoods.»

The announcement of the new song follows weeks of speculation and subtle hints provided by Disney-Pixar across their social media channels. Swift officially confirmed her contribution to the film’s soundtrack on Monday, June 1.
