A Life-Altering Accident
In October 2021, Christian content creator Gabe Poirot experienced a severe traumatic brain injury. While riding an electric skateboard at approximately 30 mph without protective headgear, he fell backward, resulting in a fractured skull. This incident led to him being placed in a coma for 18 days. Upon regaining consciousness, the 25-year-old asserted that he had undergone an extraordinary spiritual journey, claiming to have spent 17 days in heaven where he encountered Jesus.
An Unconventional Description of the Divine
In various interviews, including a conversation with Fox News that recently resurfaced on social media, Poirot has detailed his vision. He noted that his perception of the figure he encountered differed significantly from traditional depictions. According to Poirot, the Jesus he witnessed appeared as a powerful entity.
«He was 5’11, like six feet yet as tall as eternity. Like an ocean of love,» Poirot claimed. «Yet his eyes were burning white and red at the same time. Talk about testosterone, built like a mustang. I’m telling you. He’s the Lion of Judah. And there’s a roar within his voice.»
Viral Reaction and Continued Advocacy
Poirot's descriptions have generated substantial debate among social media users, many of whom expressed confusion regarding his unique terminology. Despite the mixed reactions, the YouTuber continues to share his story as a testament to his faith. «Now with every single person I meet, I tell them of the love of Christ and that he did it all for them,» he stated. «He died and rose again.»
The account of his experience is a central theme of his online presence. Poirot actively documents his story through his YouTube channel, which has amassed over 2 million subscribers, as well as his popular TikTok account. Furthermore, he detailed the events surrounding his accident and his alleged otherworldly experience in his memoir, titled 18 Days in Heaven: I Left My Body. I Met Jesus. What He Told Me Will Alter Your Eternity, which was published earlier this year.
