The Journey of an MMA Power Couple

Former UFC star Travis Browne and MMA legend Ronda Rousey have established themselves as one of the most recognizable couples in combat sports. Since marrying in 2017, the pair has remained steadfast in supporting each other's professional milestones and personal growth.

The couple has expanded their family significantly over the years, welcoming two daughters: La’akea Makalapuaokalanipō in 2021 and Liko’ula Pā’ūomahinakaipiha in 2025. Reflecting on her transition from professional fighting to motherhood, Rousey shared with Us Weekly in April 2026: «Man, I have infinite energy for my kids and not as much for myself. It’s so much easier to dig deep for your kids and your family than it is for yourself.»

Travis Browne’s Fighting Career

Before his transition to family life, Browne enjoyed a notable tenure in the UFC. His performance in the octagon earned him significant recognition in 2013, when he was honored with both Breakthrough Fighter of the Year and Comeback of the Year at the World MMA Awards. He officially retired from heavyweight competition four years later.

Rousey, meanwhile, redefined the sport following her 2011 debut, where she dominated her early career with 11 first-round victories. Inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2018, Rousey eventually made a return to the sport in 2026 following a hiatus that began after her 2016 bout with Amanda Nunes.

Family Life and Future Aspirations

Beyond his children with Rousey, Browne is a father to two sons, Keawe and Kaleo, from a previous marriage. Life in the Browne-Rousey household is deeply connected to their passion for sustainable living. The couple currently operates Browsey Acres, a ranch located in Oregon where they raise cows, chickens, and other livestock.

Looking toward the future, the couple has expressed a desire to grow their family even further. In recent interviews, Rousey has suggested that her priorities have shifted away from the ring toward raising more children. Regarding a potential professional return, she noted in May 2026: «There’s no way I could have ended it better than this. I want to have some more babies and I gotta get cooking.»

Parenting in the Spotlight

The couple's children are already showing an interest in the lifestyle that brought their parents together. Rousey noted that her daughter Pō often spends time in the gym. «She definitely wants to fight and has been asking me to. She saw some kids doing jujitsu and said, ‘I want to do that.’ I was like, ‘You will,’» Rousey recounted.
