Records confirm that Hickerson was taken into custody twice in early August 2025. According to the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department, both arrests were related to charges of being under the influence of a controlled substance.

Hayden Panettiere passed away on August 16. Authorities were called to a South Carolina residence where the actress was found unresponsive by Brian Hickerson and his brother, Zach. Despite efforts by emergency responders to provide life-saving cardiac support, she was declared deceased shortly thereafter.

While reports suggest that the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has looked into the circumstances surrounding her death, legal representation for Hickerson has urged the public to wait for the official investigation to conclude. In a statement provided by attorney Sloan Ellis, the focus remains on respecting the privacy of the actress's family.

“Hayden’s death remains under investigation and it is important to allow that investigation to proceed,” the statement noted. “As has been publicly reported, police confirmed there were no signs of foul play. Out of respect for Hayden’s loved ones and the ongoing investigation, there will be no further comment at this time.”
