Donna Kelce Denies Claims Regarding Travis Kelce’s Social Media History

Donna Kelce, 74, has stepped forward to defend her son, Travis Kelce, following allegations that he authored offensive remarks in a series of unearthed social media posts. Addressing the situation directly on X (formerly Twitter) this past Saturday, October 17, Donna explicitly stated, «Not Travis’ handle and not his account!!»

The controversy stems from a collection of now-deleted messages that reportedly originated from an account named “tkelce” between 2009 and 2011. While some observers have pointed to these posts as evidence of past behavior, others have questioned their authenticity. According to prior reporting by The New York Times in 2023, the veracity of these tweets had been examined by the fact-checking site Snopes.

The content of these alleged posts included derogatory comments regarding women's physical appearances, specifically targeting body weight and curves. Representatives for the Kansas City Chiefs star have been contacted for an official statement on the matter.

Context of the Recent Online Scrutiny

The renewed focus on Travis Kelce’s social media activity coincides with recent backlash he faced for “liking” a video clip on social media. The video featured a segment from comedian Shane Gillis’ monologue during his recent appearance on Saturday Night Live. In his stand-up routine, Gillis made controversial remarks criticizing women's gym attire, which prompted widespread criticism.

Among those who publicly condemned the remarks was actor Dan Levy, who utilized his Instagram platform to challenge the narrative presented by the comedian. Levy emphasized the importance of men speaking out against such commentary:

«Women wearing short shorts to the gym does not make them whores. It makes the men calling them whores misogynists. There’s a difference there. This is not a women’s issue. This is an everybody issue, because the more that men objectify women in the media, the more that other men see them as objects and treat them as objects.»

As of now, Travis Kelce has not issued a personal response regarding the criticism surrounding his engagement with the Gillis video clip.
