Expanding Investigation into Former Educator

A former educator in Texas, Jesse Orta, has been taken into custody for the second time amid an ongoing investigation into allegations of misconduct involving underage students. Orta, 34, previously served as a band instructor at the Somerset Academy located in San Antonio.

Details of the Allegations

According to reports, the investigation expanded after authorities uncovered evidence suggesting that Orta was involved in improper sexual relationships with two 17-year-old students. The case originated in late 2023 when concerns were first raised regarding his behavior in his office. Following these reports, Orta resigned from his position at the school, though investigators suspect that unauthorized interactions persisted beyond his departure.

Previous Legal Troubles

Orta's legal challenges began in October 2024, when he was initially arrested following accusations of recording a student without her consent while she was showering. Investigators secured his mobile device as evidence, confirming the presence of illicit recordings. One of the students involved in the case later provided testimony regarding sexual encounters with the former teacher.

Current Status of the Case

Following his recent arrest on Monday, September 7, which was linked to new findings regarding child exploitation and inappropriate relationships, Orta was released on bond the following day. At this time, it remains uncertain whether he has entered a plea or has secured legal representation. Representatives for the San Antonio Police Department have not provided a formal statement regarding the ongoing proceedings.
