A Shared Understanding of Resilience

Hayden Panettiere recently expressed her heartfelt support for Paris Jackson, highlighting the shared bond they have as women who have both navigated the difficult path of addiction. During a guest appearance on The Morning Show on May 28, Panettiere reflected on the recent revelations shared by Jackson regarding her own personal battles.

Reflections on Personal Struggles

Paris Jackson, the 28-year-old daughter of the legendary Michael Jackson, recently opened up during an episode of Jack Osbourne’s podcast, Trying Not to Die. She spoke candidly about the negative impact that substance abuse had on her behavior in the past.

«The behavior is really ugly. It’s really ugly behavior in a moral way, because I was raised to be kind — and not nice. I could give a st about being nice — but being kind and looking people in the eye and asking the waiter their name so you can write it down on the receipt later, just little things of, just like, how do you treat people?»

Panettiere’s Words of Admiration

Panettiere, who is familiar with the public nature of personal healing, praised Jackson for her honesty and the strength she has shown in overcoming her obstacles. During her interview, the 36-year-old actress shared her admiration:

«I actually just saw Paris and she’s an incredible person, incredibly strong. To see somebody who’s also battled addiction and made it through — she’s such a powerful, beautiful person,» Panettiere stated. She further emphasized her pride in seeing Jackson thrive as she pursues her musical career despite the pressures of growing up in a high-profile family.

The Journey to Recovery

Panettiere herself has been open about her experiences with addiction, a subject she delves into within her new memoir, This Is Me: The Reckoning. In recent discussions regarding her book, she noted how her most recent eight-month period in a rehabilitation facility was instrumental in her self-discovery.

She emphasized that the road to recovery is never easy, stating, «Even though it takes patience and you hit walls, and there’s nothing about it that is easy, it is so worth it. There’s no drug in the world that can recreate the feeling of genuine health and happiness and contentment.»
