Highs and Lows on the Ballroom Floor
The latest episode of Dancing With the Stars, themed "Yacht Rock Night," proved to be a night of mixed fortunes for the celebrity contestants. While some thrived under the smooth musical vibes, others struggled to navigate the challenging choreography.
Olympic skater Amber Glenn delivered a standout performance, opening the show with a foxtrot set to Toto’s "Hold the Line." Despite dealing with a rehearsal injury that left her partner, Pasha Pashkov, with a bloody nose, the pair impressed the judges. Derek Hough, Carrie Ann Inaba, and Bruno Tonioli were unanimous in their praise, each awarding the couple 8s.
«What a way to start the show. You turned this ballroom into your own personal ice rink. Just gliding across that floor effortlessly, so exquisite,»
remarked judge Derek Hough, noting that the performance set a high bar for the rest of the competition.
Challenges for Other Couples
Not every performance went as smoothly. Tyler Cameron, representing Bachelor Nation, faced criticism from the judges regarding his timing while dancing with professional partner Sharna Burgess. Reflecting on the performance, Cameron admitted, «I’m upset with myself because I didn’t hit the timing at first.» Ultimately, the duo received a combined score of 17 out of 30.
A Difficult Farewell
Following a series of intense routines, the evening concluded with the difficult task of sending one couple home. This week, the competition bid farewell to Taylor Hanson and his partner, Britt Stewart.
Expressing his appreciation for the experience, Hanson shared, «This has been everything. This has been incredible. She’s showed me things I didn’t think was possible and I’m so grateful for this time.» Stewart echoed these sentiments, adding, «Taylor, I am so grateful that I now have you in my life. Thank you so much for everything. You are amazing.»
Dancing With the Stars continues to air on ABC and Disney+ every Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET.
