Maren Morris is sharing details about her first relationship with a woman. The 36-year-old singer, who came out as bisexual in 2024, described the brief experience in a recent TikTok video.
Morris explained she was "briefly" seeing a woman after making it clear she wasn't looking for anything serious. However, she said the other person was seeking different things, leading to a difficult situation.
"Within three weeks of this completely falling apart, it was lies, threats to my reputation, and borderline extortion," Morris stated in the video. "It was pretty f----d up." She added that the experience was so depressing it made her feel "really cool being alone."
The country artist noted that her lesbian friends described such turbulent early experiences with women as "very normal," encouraging her to "push through."
Morris finalized her divorce from ex-husband Ryan Hurd in January 2024. She has long been a vocal advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, previously speaking out against anti-LGBTQ+ legislation.
