Violent Kidnapping Incident in Pennsylvania
A Pennsylvania man, 30-year-old Tylar Greenough, has been taken into custody following a multi-day kidnapping incident in Uniontown. According to the Fayette County District Attorney’s Office, Greenough is facing multiple charges, including aggravated assault and kidnapping to inflict injury or terror.
The Sequence of Events
The situation reportedly began on August 28. Authorities claim that Greenough used a ladder to access the home of his former partner via a second-story window. District Attorney Mike Aubele described the events as a hostage situation that spanned the entire weekend.
Police reports indicate that Greenough was motivated by jealousy after discovering his ex-girlfriend had started a relationship with another man. The victim informed investigators that Greenough threatened to force her to watch as he killed her grandmother and child before ending her own life.
Forced Confrontations and Assaults
The abuse allegedly occurred both at the victim's residence and at a hotel. In a harrowing turn of events, Greenough reportedly forced the woman to drive to a location to meet the man she had been seeing. During this time, the victim's baby and grandmother were held against their will inside the car's trunk.
«The victim stated that Tylar made her get out of the driver’s seat and he got into the driver’s seat. The victim stated that he attempted to strike the male with the vehicle unsuccessfully,» according to police documents.
Furthermore, investigators allege that Greenough coerced the woman into filing a false police report accusing the other man of sexual assault.
Arrest and Current Status
After the victims were eventually returned to their home, they managed to contact law enforcement on August 31 while Greenough was away at his workplace. He was apprehended on Tuesday after returning to the victim's house, where he was found to be in possession of a firearm, despite a prior felony conviction that prohibits him from owning weapons.
District Attorney Aubele noted that the suspect appeared to have vandalized the victim's home out of retaliation for the family reporting the initial kidnapping to the authorities. As of now, information regarding Greenough's legal representation remains unavailable.
