A Family Gender Reveal
Professional dancer Witney Carson and her husband, Carson McAllister, have officially shared the gender of their third child. The couple, aged 32 and 33 respectively, posted a charming video on Instagram this past Monday, September 21, to announce the news to their followers.
The reveal took place at a scenic dock where the couple stood with their two sons, 5-year-old Leo and 3-year-old Jet. In the footage, Leo opens an envelope from a basket containing blue and pink flowers, ultimately revealing that he and his brother will soon welcome another boy to the family. Although there was a brief moment of confusion when Jet held up the pink flowers, Carson confirmed in her post caption that they are indeed expecting their third son.
Balancing Pregnancy and the Ballroom
Carson first shared news of her pregnancy on August 17, just as she was preparing for season 35 of Dancing With the Stars. Participating in the competition while expecting has been a unique challenge for the dancer, who is currently paired with Guillermo Rodriguez.
«I would be lying if I said it wasn’t very daunting. I’ve never been this far along pregnant and competing on Dancing With the Stars, ever. I don’t know if it’s ever been done,» Carson noted during a broadcast on Good Morning America.
She further expressed her gratitude, stating, «I’m so proud to be a woman, to be creating life and growing this human, and to be able to do the show and compete … is such a huge blessing.»
Keeping the Reveal Simple
While the couple has opted for more elaborate announcements in the past, they chose to keep this reveal intimate and low-key. Carson mentioned during an appearance on “The Viall Files” podcast that they felt many modern gender reveals have become overly extravagant.
Reflecting on the timing of the new addition to their family, Carson shared her excitement about how involved her older sons are. «They’re so excited. By the time this baby’s born, my oldest will be 6 and then my youngest will be 4. I feel like it really is a perfect time for us to grow our family and have a third,» she explained.
Carson admitted that the pregnancy was a surprise, noting that she hadn't expected to be four months pregnant while dancing on the show this year. Nevertheless, she is embracing the experience as she continues her work on the series, which airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET on ABC and Disney+, with streaming available the following day on Hulu.
