Tragic Discovery in Oklahoma
Law enforcement officials in Oklahoma are currently investigating the deaths of influencer Sara Gilson and her estranged husband, Shawn Duffey. According to reports from a local ABC affiliate, authorities were dispatched to the couple's residence on Thursday, July 23, following reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, police confirmed both individuals were deceased. Statements provided by a family member who was present during the incident suggest the tragedy was a murder-suicide. The investigation remains active as authorities work to piece together the events that led to the fatal encounter.
Recent Allegations and Legal Disputes
The incident occurs only two weeks after Gilson utilized TikTok to announce the end of her marriage. In a highly publicized post, she accused Duffey of pedophilia. Captioning the video with the words, «I wish I was joking,» Gilson sparked significant concern among her followers. Duffey did not issue a public response to these accusations prior to his death.
The couple's relationship had become increasingly volatile in the weeks leading up to the tragedy. Records indicate that Gilson filed for a protective order against Duffey last month. The court granted the request, ordering Duffey to vacate their shared home and maintain a distance of at least 100 yards from Gilson. This protective order was scheduled to remain in effect until August 24.
