Cardi B has publicly addressed the speculation surrounding the death of influencer Ashly Robinson, known as Ashlee Jenae. The 31-year-old died during a trip to Zanzibar with her fiancé, Joe McCann.

In a family statement shared on Instagram, it was revealed Robinson had recently gotten engaged on a safari. "She and her fiancé were staying in a luxury villa... But just days later, that dream turned into our family's worst nightmare," the statement read. Robinson was found unconscious in her villa and pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The family highlighted "unanswered questions" and warned against unverified information. While some reports suggested suicide, the family and others on social media have questioned this. Cardi B appeared to reference the case on X, writing, "That girl did not off herself!!!!" without naming Robinson directly.

Robinson's mother, Yolanda Denise Endres, told WPVI that her daughter called on April 8 after an argument with McCann, leading to them being moved to separate rooms. McCann later called to say Robinson had harmed herself. The resort then informed the family of her death.

An alleged medical report cited an "unidentified mark around the neck" and McCann's claim he found her after "she hanged herself on the door." Another hospital attributed death to cerebral hypoxia from strangulation and suffocation. Endres stated her daughter never showed signs of self-harm.
