Stewart “Stew” McLean, an actor recognized for his work on the popular Netflix series Virgin River, became the focus of a major investigation in May 2026. McLean was reported missing to the Squamish Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) after being last seen at his residence in Lions Bay, British Columbia.
As the search intensified, the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) took over the case, citing evidence that suggested McLean may have been a victim of homicide. Tragically, on May 22, authorities confirmed that his remains had been recovered in the Lions Bay area. At this time, law enforcement has not disclosed information regarding potential suspects or the specific circumstances leading to his death.
