Violent Assault in Washington County
A Missouri resident is currently in police custody following a brutal domestic violence incident. Nicholas Geary, born in 2006, was arrested by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office after allegedly shooting his pregnant girlfriend in the back and repeatedly striking her in the abdomen.
According to official reports, the victim had been living under the threat of violence for several days. Law enforcement officials stated that the suspect had explicitly threatened to target the woman’s stomach because she was expecting a child.
Details of the Attack and Police Investigation
Following the shooting, the suspect contacted emergency services, claiming he had acted in self-defense. However, subsequent investigations by authorities revealed a far more disturbing narrative. Court documents, including an affidavit, indicate that the victim recounted how the suspect had previously made chilling remarks regarding her pregnancy:
«The victim reported that her boyfriend had threatened to shoot her in the days leading up to the incident, including threats to shoot her in the stomach to kill the baby, and then shooting her in the head.»
Despite being shot, the victim survived and was transported to a local medical facility for treatment. Although she initially expressed a reluctance to pursue legal action against her partner, law enforcement determined that formal charges were essential for her protection and the safety of her unborn child due to the clear escalation of violence.
Current Legal Status
Nicholas Geary has been formally charged with several serious offenses, including:
- Attempted murder
- Domestic assault
- Unlawful use of a weapon
- Armed criminal action
The suspect is currently being held at the Washington County Jail without the possibility of bond. At this time, it remains unconfirmed whether Geary has secured legal representation or entered a plea in response to the charges.
