During a solo outing to Cornwall on March 5, Prince William humorously confessed he needed his wife's assistance. While trying his hand at making a traditional Cornish pasty at the Gear Farm Pasty Shop, the Prince of Wales found the task tricky.
"This is where I need my wife," William said, adding that Kate "would be all over this." He joked about his "limited culinary skills," calling the attempt "not my finest hour." Of his finished pasty, he remarked, "Not sure this is going to be sellable... it looks like a funny little crab."
William also took phone orders at the shop, amusingly mishearing a customer's name. The shop later gave him pasties decorated for his family to take home. Staff noted he wished Kate were there to help, but praised his first attempt at the difficult task.
